About Us - Philosophy

It has been our experience that companies look to their independent accounting firms to provide not only an independent opinion on the financial statements and preparation of the necessary Federal and state income tax returns, but to assist management during the year with financial and tax planning ideas that will create efficiencies, tax savings, and improve productivity within the organization. Over the years, we have found that many CPA firms have attempted to continually reduce the number of hours spent on financial and income tax matters to just meeting filing requirements in order to control escalating hourly rates and overall fees to their clientele. Many firms have implemented what they refer to as “risk analysis” to justify the continued reduction in hours they spend in each area of their client’s operations. As a result, it is our impression that these accounting firms learn less and less about the operations of their clientele and, therefore, can provide only limited services during the course of their examinations. The resulting impact, in many cases, is that these accounting firms are present and are assisting their clientele, only with regard to matters relating to third party reporting and disclosure requirements necessary to provide their reports on the financial statements.

It is our philosophy that an independent accounting firm maximizes the benefits to its clientele by learning first-hand about the corporation’s operations and by providing continuous service throughout the year. Accordingly, our audit services are provided at your location, and the information we obtain during our normal field work is used to maximize benefits to management. Unlike normal reports received from some independent accounting firms, our audit and accounting procedures and tax planning meetings are structured to generate suggestions for tax and financial planning, and to improve productivity within the company’s operations.

As part of our annual audit and our continued service throughout the year, we consider it an important responsibility to meet with our clientele in order to provide timely input in financial decisions that are made on an ongoing basis. Accordingly, we meet routinely to discuss current problems, to evaluate financial planning ideas that arise during the course of the year and to provide timely input on matters effecting the financial operations of the company. We believe that the highest caliber of service can be achieved only when the independent accountant has a thorough understanding of his client’s business and its environment and is aware of his client’s operations and current needs. We maintain communications with appropriate personnel throughout the year, and we issue financial and tax releases on important financial, accounting and tax matters as they arise.
