Dannible & McKee, LLP Announces Two Partner Promotions and Leadership Transition

Dannible & McKee, LLP, a certified public accounting and consulting firm with offices in Syracuse, Binghamton and Albany, New York, is pleased to announce the promotion of two senior managers to the position of partner, and a leadership transition that includes a new managing partner and partner-in-charge of tax services.

Brian J Potter, CPA, has been promoted to tax partner.  Potter started with the firm in 2006 and has experience in all areas of income taxation, including individual and corporate tax planning, financial planning, multi-state taxation, research and development, New York State income tax credits and ownership transition issues. He specializes in working with manufacturing, construction, multi-state corporations and high net worth individuals. Potter is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego School of Business, accredited by the AACSB.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).

Benjamin Sumner, CPA, has been promoted to audit partner.  Sumner started with the firm in 2010 and has experience providing auditing, accounting and consulting services to a wide variety of privately-held businesses. He specializes in working with manufacturing, construction and nonprofit industries, as well as in audits of employee benefit plans. He is a member of AICPA and NYSSCPA and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York. Sumner also received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego School of Business, accredited by the AACSB.

Michael J. Reilly, CPA/ABV, CVA, CFF, CDA, has been elected as the firm’s new managing partner. Reilly, whose term began July 1, 2018, succeeds Thomas V. Fiscoe, CPA, CGMA, who has led the firm since 2013. Fiscoe will continue his role as audit partner with the firm.

Reilly, who started with the firm in 1983, has extensive experience in all areas of income and estate taxation, with strong emphasis in individual and corporate tax planning, business valuations, ownership transition and employee benefits. He concentrates in various industry specialties, including manufacturing, construction, automotive dealerships and professional service organizations. Reilly is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Pennsylvania, and he co-authored a course on business valuation and ownership transition.

As managing partner, Reilly will oversee day-to-day operations, and will be responsible for guiding the firm’s overall strategy, growth, innovation and culture across its audit, tax, accounting and advisory services.

Karl Jacob, CPA/PFS, CFP®, CDA, succeeds Mike Reilly as the partner-in-charge of tax services.  Joining the firm in 1987, Jacob has extensive experience overseeing tax and consulting services to a wide range of clients, including individuals, corporations and privately-held companies. He is adept in income and estate taxation, with a high concentration in individual and corporate tax planning, and financial planning. Jacob specializes in the retail automotive, not-for-profit, and manufacturing industries and a Certified Public Accountant in New York State and Pennsylvania.
