Nicholas L. Shires, CPA, Named to the Central New York Business Journal “40 under Forty” List

Dannible & McKee, LLP, a leading certified public accounting and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Nicholas L. Shires, CPA, partner-in-charge of tax services, has been selected as one of Central New York Business Journal’s 2020 “40 under Forty” honorees. The prestigious award program recognizes 40 people under the age of 40 who have excelled in the workplace and in the community. These men and women share a mutual commitment to business growth, to professional excellence and to serving their community.

Shires has over 16 years of experience providing tax and consulting services to a wide range of clients, including individuals and privately held companies. He joined the firm in 2004 after graduating from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. Shires accomplished his NYS certification as a Certified Public Accountant in 2011 and was admitted to the partnership at Dannible & McKee in July 2015, making him one of the firm’s youngest partners to be selected. On July 1, 2020, Nick was promoted by the partnership to partner-in-charge of tax services.

Shires has extensive experience in the retail automotive, construction and professional service industries, offering highly specialized knowledge in tax planning relating to taxation issues influencing these industries.   He supports clients in all areas of corporate and individual income tax compliance, including multistate taxation issues, and provides advisory services to help clients prosper and succeed.

Shires is also highly involved in the firm’s engagement with professional associations.  He takes an active role in the firm’s international alliance, Geneva Group International (GGI), and participates in several trade associations, including the Syracuse Auto Dealers Association, Eastern New York Coalition of Automotive Retailers, Associated Builders and Contractors and Syracuse Builders Exchange.
