Two Professionals Earn Certified Fraud Examiner Designation

Dannible & McKee, LLP, a leading certified public accounting and consulting firm, is proud to announce that Nathan T. Merulla and Christine N. Petrone have officially earned the prestigious Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation.

The CFE credential, awarded by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), is recognized worldwide as the standard of excellence in fraud prevention, detection and deterrence. Earning this designation requires rigorous training, demonstrated professional experience and passing a comprehensive examination covering financial transactions, investigation techniques, legal elements of fraud and fraud prevention strategies.

As newly credentialed CFEs, Merulla and Petrone join a distinguished group of professionals trusted to navigate complex financial matters, investigate irregularities and fortify internal controls for organizations across a wide range of industries. Their expanded skill set will further enhance the firm’s specialized fraud examination, risk assessment and litigation support services.

Merulla, CPA, CFE, is an audit manager with the firm. He joined Dannible & McKee in 2020 after interning in 2019 and 2020. His responsibilities include performing employee benefit plan and FAR audits, as well as attestation services for clients in the architecture and engineering, construction and manufacturing industries.

Petrone, CPB, CFE, is the firm’s accounting and advisory services director and began her career with Dannible & McKee in 2016. She manages multiple client engagements and specializes in accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, asset tracking and depreciation. She also prepares budgets, GAAP financial statements, recommends accounting controls and oversees a department of nine professionals. In addition, she is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB).
